Hello guys! Before I start with the interview, tell us -- how are you doing these days?
C: Great! Summer is over in The Netherlands. Rain and boredome are usually more inspiring to us than smiling teenage chicks on the beach. Also we´ll have some cool shows we´re looking forward to, so life is treating us relatively good these days. Nevertheless, our day-to-day struggle to cope with life itself never seems to end.
Ok, first question! What's your actually line up and could you resume in a few words the band's biography ?
C: We´re not men of many words. We don´t really care for large biographies that describe all the bandmembers hobbies, or how they met each other. Just state what you stand for, that´s the purpose of a biography.
The line up is as follows: Rob E: Vocals and Oboe Martijn: Guitars and screams Erik: Bass and words Christ: Drums
This is the actual line up we are touring with now, and we wrote our latest album Dark Dreams, My Child with. We´re not a band that changes the line up very quickly (we´ve all been playing together in several bands before Another Messiah), so don´t expect a lot of news items on that matter.
R: We make postdoom, which derives from doom but also breaks away from it.
How did you come to choose this bandname ANOTHER MESSIAH" ? What's that mean ?
C: I am not sure if there is just one way to explain what it means. It could have a hopeful meaning. There will always be Messiah´s: people who society believes in. The sad part is that no matter what Messiah comes up, misery will be part of our lives anyway. Just take a quick glance at history, and you´ll know what I mean. Important to note is that we don´t make a religious statement. It´s more like a life lesson that could be applied to many occasions at various levels of abstraction. Listening to the album and the lyrics, hope and misery are two important themes.
Are you satisfied about „Dark Dreams, My Child? I´thing, than album is really great. Your „colours“ tracks I listen very very often…
C: We definitely are satisfied about this album. It´s our first full lenght and it´s the best debut we could ever imagine. The responses from our fans and the press are also amazing, convincing us we did the right thing.
R: Thanks for the compliment! I am not sure what you mean by colours of tracks. They´re all dark more or less.
